Forget using an SQL database to serve the freeddb that shows a lack of
thought. SQL is optimised for complex lookups, anbd for changing table
sets. Database people crow about having 500 queries /second going on big
iron boxes. My MacII can do 500 gdbm lookups a second on 0.1 load average.

Your SQL database probably makes sense but to generate and manage the data
then export it to a content server with real performance
