I've written a new CGI script to provide CDDB-over-HTTP compatibility.
It uses the CDDB/HTTP protocol, but accesses the CDIN backend tables. It
works quite well!
The web pages have been updated for this new stuff. Please see
http://www.cdin.org/server/.
I have tried the script with "CDex" which is a tool that I use to rip
CDs into MP3s. CDex has CDDB capability and issues "cddb query" followed
by "cddb read" commands. The compatibility script does not implement any
other CDDB commands at this time. CDex was able to successfully populate
the disc/track information for my CoC/Wiseblood disc.
As I've mentioned before, the backend database contains about 51,000
titles, based on the March, 1998 snapshot of the CDDB database (just the
ROCK portion). I'll get around to loading the rest of the database,
which will bring it up to about 110,000 titles.
Please let me know if you have any problems or questions.
thx
