Actually, there seem to be two efforts happening now. CDindex is a quick,
"we don't need no stinkin' CDDB" effort to get away from the current system.
CDIN (CD Information Network, www.cdin.org) is a larger effort, trying to
re-define everything from the ground up, including new features,
distribution models, protocols, and all that stuff.

I'm not sure if these two efforts will merge, or even if they should merge,
but as it stands there is a large community of support for building
something "bigger and better," not just "different."

Thats fine. You are absolutly right in what you said.
With that in mind, is this mailing list the best place to listen
for cries for help and or requests for involvment?
