While we are at it - sooner or later we have to guard the server code in a
way such that the system can't be hurt by erroneous -or worse- maliciously
crafted client requests.

Glad to hear this.
So it works for you - Robert still has problems with the autoconf
mechanism. I hope to sort this out tomorrow, for I can now use a Linux
box -without access to CD audio though- but still enough to test the
build process..
Tomorrow I will be able to start work on the OS/2 Warp 4 version too.
So this leaves verifying Irix, figuring out how to do it under Solaris
and coordination with the Mac fellows how to make it easy
for them.
