David, thanks for posting the summary of messages and this concise list of
features. I agree with everything you've said. One suggestion I might
make is to have a short "media" field. There's really no reason why this
*has* to be for CD's *only*. One extra field won't hurt, and if no one
uses it, no big deal. But if we're going to do this, let's do it right
the first time, think ahead, and try to avoid any "Y2K/IPv4" problems in
the future. We just don't know what other formats might crop up. DVD vs.
CD comes to mind, though.

Other thoughts... I think most of the additional features you propose are
nearly "must-haves". The current format is very limiting, especially for
audiophiles like me who want to have specific information about each CD
(conducter and orchestra as well as composer, studio, producer, etc), each
track (for compilations), sub- and super-track information (for long
pieces like a symphony or "Atom Heart Mother Suite" :)

Looking forward to creating a real kick-ass format...
