This is my first Email to this list, together with three different people
we are working on a system to extend cdindex with scrolling lyrics. We
know this has some legal problems..
Currently we have a working server located at our university to give
clients scrolling lyrics/karaoke information besides only artist/title
info.
Adress http://www.mp3.nl , developers section.
The server has an old version of our work, it should be updated soon.
We have a working WinAmp plug-in that connects to the server using
winsock (sucks bigtime when used to Linux).
Current work concentrates on a upload feature for lyrics to the server. We
will abuse the cdindex perl or extend the php3 stuff we developed.
We plan to support the ID3 feature of saving lyrics into a MP3 file.

php3 fuzzy matches are almost finished.

We hope to integrate with our effort, but the lyrics feature is still
under debate I believe. My point is that if you want to improve CDDB, this
is what people want as a feature.
I hope you guys support the idea.
